Happy New Year to you and your family. Thank you to everyone who fished with me this past year. I enjoyed making new friends and seeing regular fishing buddies. In 2012, I look forward to carrying each and everyone of you again. Now here is the report, Inshore we are catching red fish in the flats and creeks. There are some big schools on the flats, we need calm winds for this. Sight casting to these hard fighters with get anyone’s blood pumping. We can fish the creeks for redfish no matter what the wind is doing. To catch the red fish we are using Strike King minnows, D.O.A paddle tails, Gulp Alive shrimp and minnows, on 1/4 or 3/8 jig heads. We have been applying Pro-Cure and Carolina Lunker Sauce in mullet and shrimp scent, to entice even the stubborn fish. If you want to kick back and relax, we will throw mud minnows, shrimp, and mullet. Whatever it takes for you to catch fish. For the trout we have been throwing Mirro-Lures in a variety of colors. It seems anything with pink works on the dirty water days and on the clear days the ole red head white body. Put a little scent on them and fish slow and persistent. The fish are there, it just takes a little time to entice them to bite. the goal of every trip is to have a great day on the water and catch as many fish as we can. I am still offering my REDFISH WINTER RATES $250.00 for 6hrs and $300.00 for 7hrs on my flats boat. I have AFFORDABLE LODGING starting at $50.00 a night. Give me a call and get in on this Great Winter Action 910-264-1807.

Stewert with a nice December Redfish. We found these fish schooled up in the creeks and showed them no mercy.. Stewert and J.D. caught these fish until their arms got tired. A great double digit day.

J.D. holding an upper slot redfish. We caught fish until they said lets go home. I even got to catch a few to let J.D.s arm rest. Great winter fishing.

The winter fishing has remained great with the mild temperatures. We are catching them on bottom rigs with cut shrimp or mullet in the river. The trout are biting as well on D.O.A shrimp, Mirro-lures, and tsunami swim baits. Lots of small trout with a few nice ones in the mix.

Hello to all, Thanks for reading the report. We are catching fish and having great days on the water. Inshore the Red fish, flounder and a few trout have been cooperating on a daily basis. We have had some strong winds, but remember it is always calm in the back waters and sounds. We have been catching the red fish and flounder on 3inch gulp shrimp, strike king minnows, D.O.A minnows and Finesse jerkbaits on jig heads. The trout are biting DOA shrimp, Billy Bay Shrimp, strike king minnows, and various mirro-lures. Spray some fish juice on the lure and cast. Mud minnows, mullet, shrimp, and live shrimp have been working as well. The wind has kept us off the ocean over the past few weeks. We have been fishing the calm waters and enjoying some great inshore fishing. Now is a great time to book your Fall or Winter fishing trip. I have some great Winter Rates and affordable oceanfront lodging if you want a package deal. Call 910-264-1807 and book your trip today!!!!!

Again I am sorry for the delay in fishing reports. Too busy fishing no time to sit down in front of the computer and type. We are having a rainy day so here is the report. Inshore we are catching lots of red-fish and flounder. We are using jigs with soft plastics, top-waters, and a few crank-baits. When the action is slow or we want to relax, we throw out live mullet minnows, mud minnows, or shrimp. Whatever it takes to have a fun day on the water. Lots of relaxing and fun fishing. We have been catching a few trout, this action will only get better. The pan-fish, spots, croakers, puffers and pig-fish are biting in the inlets and river mouth. NOW IS THE TIME TO CALL AND BOOK YOUR TRIP TODAY 910-264-1807.

Just off the beach the big Spanish mackerel, bluefish and false albacore are running down the beach. We have been trolling clark spoons and when conditions are right casting spoons and flies to these hard fighting fish. Lots of fun and great action. There are some grey trout, flounder, and seabass on the near-shore wrecks and reefs. We have been jigging spoons and using live mullet to fool these fish. Cut mullet or pinfish has worked well on bottom rigs. Also some big sharks still hanging out behind the shrimp boats. We are catching Lots of fish and having great days on the water. Now is the time to book your fall fishing trip call 910-264-1807.

We survived Hurricane Irene. It just brushed us in Carolina Beach, my thoughts and prayers go to all the residents and charter fleets north of Morehead City.

Sorry for the long delay in reports. Just too busy catching fish and having fun to sit in front of the computer, so I made myself sit down today. Inshore the redfish bite has picked up on the flats and creeks. The cooler temps and mass amounts of bait has turn these hard fighting fish on. We have been casting soft plastics, gulps and other paddle tails grups to these hungry fish. We have been picking up some flounder on the lures. We have been catching them on mullet and mudminnows as well. No matter your skill level I can put you on the fish, from flyfishermen to kids wanting a tug on their line. Call and book your trip today 910-264-1807.

Just off the coast the spanish bite has been hot, and I am sure it will continue when the water clears up over the weekend. The bluefish are mixed in with the spanish, signs that fall will be here soon. The flounder have been biting well over the nearshore wrecks and reefs on mullet and bucktails tipped with gulp. The sharks have been thick behind the shrimp boats, on good days you and can catch them until your arms get sore.

Fishing is good and will continue to get better over the fall. Just ran a trip on 8-30 and caught 12 flounder(5 keepers) and Several redfish. Not bad for two days after the strom. Just a sign the fish are still here, where are You? Call and book your fishing trip today 910-264-1807.

The day before the strom with John from Nova Scotia. We landed several nice reds on lures and a few on live bait. We had several chances on the fly, but just could not get them to bite. Still a great double digit day of redfish on the redfish explorer.

Well, it has been hot!!!! But on the water the breeze has been blowing and it is always cooler out there, than on land. We are having some good action in the mornings with a mix bag of fish. Inshore it has been redfish and flounder. We have been casting softplastics and using live bait for the redfish. When we are just flounder fishing, live mullet or mud minnows, or a bucktail tipped with a gulp shrimp. We have been focusing on structure near deep water, the fish are wanting to stay cool. Just off the coast lots of spanish mackerel are being caught trolling clarkspoons. The Big Sharks are cruising behind the shrimpboats, please stay back from the shrimpers and give them plenty of room. The flounder are showing up around the reefs and rocks just off the beach as well. Lots of fun for everyone no matter their skill level. Good times on the water with friends and family. If you want to get in on this great Carolina Beach charter fishing action, then give me a call 910-264-1807 and book your trip today!!!

Thanks for reading the report, It is long overdue.. I have been busy fishing and having fun, just could not make myself sit in front of the computer until today. Well the end of June we had some tough days of fishing. After the weather settled, the fish started to bite reel good again. Inshore we have been catching plenty of red-fish, mostly slot sized with a few over slot. We have been casting gulp, top-waters, a few crank-baits and mud minnows to catch the red-fish. The flounder have been biting the jigs and minnows as well.

Well the fishing has been steady of the past few weeks. We have been catching Red-fish, Black drum, Trout, and a few Flounder on our inshore fishing charters. We have been casting jigs with gulp alive in the shrimp and minnow patters. The strike king minnows and spinner baits have been working also. On some of the slower days we have used shrimp and mud minnows to increase the action. Each trip is tailored to fit your fishing ability. On our coastal trips there has been plenty of action with the Spanish mackerel, bluefish, and lots of good size croakers. For the Spanish and blues we have been casting spoons to breaking fish or trolling, whatever it takes to put fish in the boat. The croakers have been biting shrimp and mud minnows. You will see in the pics below a 4yr old, an expecting mother, and people into their late 60′s all catching fish. Even a few dogs have gotten in on the action. If you want a fun day on the water with friends and family give me a call 910-264-1807. Now is the time to get in on this great spring fishing.

The inshore fishing has remained steady over the past few weeks in Carolina Beach. The redfish are starting to spread out in their usual summer patterns. They are moving onto the flats and out into the main parts of the channel. We are catching them mostly with Gulp alive shrimp and gulp minnows on a 3/8 jig-head. I have also caught a few on top-waters and crank-baits. Lots of fun for beginners and pros alike. We have also been using shrimp or cut mullet when all else fails or we want a break from casting. The black drum and few flounder are being caught in with reds.

Just off the beach the action has been reel good with plenty of bluefish, a few Spanish, and a few bonito. We are catching the blues jigging Sea Striker Jig-fish spoons or casting them into fish on the surface. The Spanish and bonito have been mixed in there as well. We can also troll for these scrappy fighters as well.
