Hello everyone. We have had wind and more wind since Tropical storm Andrea. I fished through the storm and everyone had a good time and caught fish. Inshore we are catching red drum on lures and live bait. Gulp shrimp and top water plugs have been catching the reds as well as mullet and mud minnows on Carolina rigs. We have been picking up a few flounder and trout on the lures and live baits. Lots of fun no matter your skill level. We can catch them on lures or bait, your choice.

Just off the beach the water the past few weeks has been choppy. There are still some Spanish mackerel, blues, and sharks cruising the beach. Trolling Clark spoons for the Spanish and blues works the best. If fish are feeding on the surface, we can cast spoons to these surface feeders. Due to the weather we have been fishing mainly inshore for comfort and to avoid motion sickness. The weather and winds will improve over the next few weeks.

Mr. Young giving me some advertising in Afghanistan, No taliban fishing with me. Look forward to taking you and Matt fishing this winter.

Allen with a nice 29inch red drum he landed with his boys before he leaves to go to Afghanistan.

Kelly with a nice 25 inch red landed on a float rig and mud minnow.

Ron with a nice 24 inch red that he landed, Kelly caught the bigger fish between the two.

Walter and son with a great double on reds.

Terry with a red that fell to a mud minnow.

Mr. Terry with a nice trout.

Ed with a red.

Mike with a nice 18 inch trout.

T.J. with  the winning red fish. How sweet it is to win the family tournament.

Paul with a nice red. We fished the day before and after T.S. Andrea and caught fish. They were determined to get on the water.

Leslie with a nice two spot red.

Tommy with a bonnet head shark that hit a piece of blue crab.

John, Riley and Shayden with reds and flounder they landed in the rain before T.S. Andrea. They really wanted to go fishing.

Riley with a nice trout.  She made the Fisherman’s Post magazine with this picture.

DeAnna, Walter and her Aunt with a nice table full of Spanish mackerel.

As you can see we are catching fish and having fun. Now is the time to book your trip so you and your family can catch fish and have the adventure of a lifetime. Give me a call at 910-264-1807 to book your trip today..

Thanks Capt. Robert Schoonmaker

Hello everyone… We have been catching fish and having a great time on the water, each and every trip. Spring has finally sprung, the weather is warm and the fish are biting. Inshore we are catching red drum, black drum, a few trout and flounder. The reds we have been catching on gulp shrimp rigged weedless, strike king minnows on 3/8oz jigs and top water plugs. Just working the grass banks and oyster rocks is producing fish. We are also catching them on mud minnows and shrimp on float rigs or Carolina rigs. The trout have been biting fluke baits rigged on 1/4 to 3/8 jig heads. The flounder are hitting the bait while fishing for the reds and trout. Just off the beach the Spanish mackerel and blues have been biting like crazy. Trolling clarkspoons or casting Hopkins to breaking fish works the best. On the bottom plenty of sharks, a few grey trout, a few flounder, and plenty of sea bass. Sea bass opens June 1st, so they better watch out. Now is a great time to book your summer fishing trip. DO NOT WAIT, dates are filling up fast. Think ahead for July and August.  Check out the pics.
