Fishing Report Deep Jigging 9-5-2010
September 7th, 2010 by Gillwetter PressThe weather from hurricane Earl cut a 2 day jigging trip with Victor, Jimmy, Andrew and Lourdes from Bookfihsingtrips.com to a one day marathon. Headed off shore in the dark with light east winds and mixed swells. Once we arrived it didn’t take long to start hammering the AJs and Almacos. We had great action all day every drift. The ocean actually went completely flat with very little current. The was Victor’s 1st trip to NC and AJ fishing and he did a great job but very tired. Lourdes caught the largest AJ of the day 50 inches and a fat 70 lbs. Also caught a 12 foot Dusky on the jig. Andrew has the hot hand with multiple fish every drift and the big fish that pulled off close to the boat. Ended the day looking for some grouper for the cooler and had 3 nice lb 20 Reds and 2 Scamps. Teh fall fishing is just getting started just hope the weatherman gives us a break.
