Fishing Report Deep Jigging 2-27-2011

February 28th, 2011 by Gillwetter Press

Jon, Peter, Joey, Basil and George came down from BookFishingTrips.com for the 1st trip of 2011 and it was not a disappointment. The 1st couple drifts landed and released 2 fat gag grouper. Then we found the AJs. Joey landed the 1st 50 inch fish but and Peter would not be out done and landed a 57 inch x 34 inch big girl. We also landed 2 White Trevally another species on the jigs. Had constant action all day with the AJs and Almacos. Later in the day finally found the 1st African Pompano of 2011 with a nice double header Jon had a 36 lber and Basil a 30 lber. The AJs starting eating again had in the afternoon and then Joey finished the last drift with a 40 lb African. This was a great start for the 2011 season for the guys. It has been a long winter in NY and looking forward to the spring fishing.
