Fishing Report Deep Jigging 4-20-2011 Day #3

April 20th, 2011 by Gillwetter Press

I knew the weatherman would finally get it wrong headed out in a large SE swell and the winds picked up with the sun. We made it out but it was painful and it didn’t take long. Gustavo quickly hooked and nice 25 lb Wahoo on a jig but it through the hook just out of gaff range. The AJs were a little picky but larger and the guys landed a few in the morning while they were eating. Moved out to 200 feet and Roberto landed a small Wahoo and we lost another at the boat. Continued to catch a few AJs and Almacos. Also released another large Gag (May 1st is coming soon). Tried to make a few drifts in the deep but the fish shutdown and the wind picked up so we made the long wet ride home.
