Fishing Report Gulf Stream 6-4-2011

June 5th, 2011 by Gillwetter Press

Had Dale, Sean, John and Don back for a Gulf Stream trolling trip. The ride out was OK with a east swell/wind. Started in shallow in 135 feet and only had Cuda action. Later in the morning found a large area of matted weeds and did some drifting with spinning tackle and landed a couple small Mahi. Ran off shore to 850 feet after hearing a current edge was forming on the radio. There was a beautiful current line with weeds and it didn’t take long before the 1st reel started screaming. Sean caught the 1st nice Bull. The action was not wide open but steady with all quality fish. In addition, caught some nice fish on the spinning tackle when a school followed one of the big Bulls to the boat. Ended up with 10 Mahi and 6 of them over 20 lbs with the largest close to 30 lbs.
