The Best Fishing Is Around The Carolina Beach Inlet

July 27th, 2005 by Gillwetter Press | Comments Off

Seems like the dog days of summer are here a little early this year. Even with the extreme heat, we are still seeing some nice fish! The North Pier is producing some Flounder including this seven pound catch by Brian. I’m sure they’re catching some at the Kure Beach Pier and both piers are reporting catches of Sheepshead around the pilings and a King Mackerel or Tarpon every now and then. The surf has not been too bad either. I keep seeing some Croakers and Whiting and even some small Blue Fish mainly caught at night when the water cools down. The river is hot so fish have headed to cooler water and when you find them they are of decent size. Each hole holds a few fish, so after a while it will be time to move to the hole along the river. Otherwise, the best fishing is around the Carolina Beach Inlet. So get out there and catch some fish even with the heat, there are still plenty of nice fish in the area.
