Seahawk Inshore Fishing Charters Report 2/16/13 Inshore and Backwater Fishing Remains Good in the Cape Fear Area!!! Redfish, Black Drum, and a few Speckled Trout

February 16th, 2013 by Gillwetter Press | Comments Off

The inshore and backwater is still going strong and producing good catches of redfish, black drum, and a few speckled trout. We are catching reds on dead shrimp, live mud minnows, Gulp Baits, and DOA paddletails. The black drum are hitting dead shrimp and the specs are being caught on Gulp Jerk Shads and DOA jerkbaits. Catching reds, specs, and black drum has provided us with lots of action and some great eating fish to take home. Looks like the awesome fishing we are experiencing will continue through the rest of the winter. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we’ll have some good fishing opportunities for the next couple of weeks.

Check out the photos from the trips over the past couple of weeks.

Thanks,

Seahawk Inshore Fishing Report 2/2/13 Catching reds, speckled trout, and black drum in the backwaters of the lower Cape Fear.

February 2nd, 2013 by Gillwetter Press | Comments Off

The inshore and backwater winter fishing is still going strong and producing catches of redfish, speckled trout, and black drum.  The speckled trout bite has been good on the warmer days with redfish and black drum biting in almost any conditions as long as the tides are right.  Most of the reds and black drum have been caught using fresh frozen shrimp. We’re also catching reds on Gulp Baits, DOA paddletails and live mud minnows.  The speckled trout are hitting Gulp Jerk Shads and DOA jerk baits.  Catching reds, black drum, and speckled trout has provided us with a lot of action and mixed bag of fish to take home for the dinner table.

Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we will continue to experience this awesome inshore action through February.  Thanks for reading the report and I should have a good one for the next couple of weeks.  Check out the photos from my recent trips.

Thanks,
Jeff Wolfe
