We are happy to report that this weekend looks great for the Battle of the Beaches Tournament (November 5 and 6) -- Captain's Meeting at Hooters on Friday evening (November 4). The format and timetable are the same as listed in the brochure -- the dates have simply changed.

Looks like some great days to pre-fish this week (find the big fish) and win the tournament this weekend.

Remember, Wrightsville Beach easily defeated Carolina Beach last year -- even though WB had fewer entries.

The tournament only requires one day of fishing -- so, if the weather stays on track you may enter one category Saturday and another fishing category Sunday.

It would be great to have a large turn-out this year. The fishing is awesome -- a number of us got five days on the water last week and caught all the wahoo, grouper and kings that would fit in the freezer.

We want you in this tournament -- call your friends, challenge your co-workers, tease your enemies. The biggest fish of the year are caught in November around here -- get out there.

The Ocean Isle Fishing Center and myself would like to thank everyone who participated in last years tournament for helping it to continue to grow.This years event promises to be bigger and better than ever.With the help of our sponors:RANGER BOATS, GUY C. LEE BUILDING MATERIALS,SEA TOW, Shallotte Rent all, and Carolina Golf and Beach Resorts we once again will be providing a great dinner at our captains meeting which will be held friday night Nov. 25 at 6 o'clock. This inshore tournament promises to be a growing force in the future as it combines wholesome family fun, great fishing and great atmosphere. It's a holiday weekend, you're stuffed from turkey and its time to get out on the water and go fishing-- and why not add a little spice and compete for great cash and prizes.
